Internship

During my internship, I worked alongside architects and designers on active commercial projects, contributing to everything from floor plan development to finish selections. I collaborated closely with a senior architect to draft a new floor plan and was trusted to lead coordination with flooring reps for a smaller project. I participated in site visits and project meetings with owners and construction teams, gaining firsthand insight into the design-build process. I also reviewed submittals (some more confusing than others—door hardware, I’m looking at you!) and redlined lighting plans for consultant review. One of the highlights was creating a finish selection sheet for a renovation project following a successful meeting where we finalized the materials with the client.

This internship strengthened my confidence in both technical skills and real-world collaboration, and gave me a deeper appreciation for the fast-paced, team-oriented nature of commercial design.
